CCM friends pledge continued cooperation

THE ruling CCM friendly parties have commended Tanzania for upholding peace and reaffirm their readiness to work closely with the party.

The party representatives from National Council for the Defense of Democracy – Forces for the Defense of Democracy (CNDD-FDD) of Burundi and the Communist Party of China (CPC) made the remarks  during the  10th   CCM National Congress  that kicked off   in Dodoma on Wednesday.

CNDD-FDD Secretary General Mr Reverian Ndikuriyo said Tanzania is a model country due to the prevailing peace it has maintained for more than 60 years under the ruling party CCM

Mr Ndikuriyo said Burundi has been making efforts to maintain good neighbourhoods with Tanzania by holding regular meetings to protect the borders and eradicate all groups of criminals who were committing crimes in one country and fleeing to another country.

He asked Tanzania to continue supporting Burundi as it has received more than one million Burundian refugees and keep them in refugees camps which include Mishamo, Katumba Uliyankulu, Nduta, Nkubwa and Lukole.

“Burundi went through many problems in recent years. Burundians died as a result of conflicts that occurred in the country…  Mwalimu Julius Nyerere and the former president who was the Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Jakaya Kikwete helped to form the army to ensure safety in Burundi” he noted

Moreover, the CNDD- FDD representative pledged to continue managing properly the development projects that Burundi and Tanzania entered in an agreement for the benefits of both countries.

“We know that Burundi and Tanzania have entered into agreements on development projects and the CNDD-FDD party promises to continue managing these projects for the success of both countries” he pledged

Meanwhile the Communist Party of China has reaffirmed its readiness to work closely with Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) and follow the guidance and consensus reached between the party leaders.

CPC Representative Mr Suo Peng told the 10th CCM National Congress yesterday that his part value its traditional friendship with CCM thus it stands ready to work together.

“We are ready to follow the guidance and consensus reached between our party leaders as we continue our high quality interactions and the exchanges and mutual learning of the governance experience,” he said.

He said the move will steer the course of China- Tanzania comprehensive strategic partnership and contribute to the building of China – Africa Community with a shared future in the new era.

Mr Peng further commended President Samia Suluhu Hassan for a successful state visit to China in the beginning of November.

He said President Samia was the first African head of state to be hosted by China after the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.
