CCM celebrates 48 years with symbolic 500-Dove release

DODOMA: Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) celebrated its 48th anniversary by releasing 500 doves at the Jamhuri Stadium, Dodoma, symbolizing the party’s commitment to peace and stability.

The Party’s Regional Chairperson, Mr. Adam Kimbisa presided over the event emphasizing the gesture represented unity and harmony in the country.

“On behalf of all regional chairpersons, we release these doves as a symbol of peace and unity that define our nation,” Mr. Kimbisa said.

“Chairperson, you have played a key role in fostering this harmony, and we recognize your efforts in ensuring stability across the country.”

Addressing thousands of CCM supporters gathered for the event, Kimbisa highlighted the role of President Samia Suluhu Hassan in strengthening peace through her leadership and the 4Rs philosophy.

CCM’s National Secretary for Ideology, Publicity, and Training, Amos Makalla, echoed similar sentiments, stating that the party has laid a strong foundation for national unity and will continue to uphold its legacy.

He added that the doves also symbolize recognition of President Samia’s leadership and commitment to sustaining peace.

The celebrations, which have drawn thousands of party members and dignitaries, are being led by President Samia, who arrived at the stadium accompanied by Vice President Dr. Philip Mpango, CCM’s running mate for the upcoming presidential election Dr. Emanuel Nchimbi, former President Dr. Jakaya Kikwete, and CCM Vice Chairperson Stephen Wasira.

The anniversary event has also been filled with entertainment, with performances from top Tanzanian artists, including Bongo Flava stars Alikiba and Diamond Platnumz.

Gospel singers such as Christina Shusho and Bella Kombo are also set to perform, while traditional music groups and poetry artists continue to entertain the crowd.
