CCM candidate to fix Bwiru Ziwani roads

MWANZA: CCM’s Pasiansi Ward councillor candidate in Ilemela Constituency, Mwanza Region Ms Regina Lubala has pledged to tackle the chronic problem of poor road infrastructure facing Bwiru Ziwani Street residents if elected in the upcoming General Election scheduled for October 29th this year.

Speaking on Wednesday during a campaign rally with residents of Pasiansi Ward, Ms Lubala acknowledged the challenges faced by residents, particularly poor road infrastructure, vowing to find lasting solutions in collaboration with the local community.

“It’s inspiring to see residents taking the initiative by breaking rocks and repairing sections of the road themselves. Their dedication motivates me even more to work alongside them and ensure the road is completed all the way to the lake,” she said.

Ms Lubala said that while road construction is primarily a government responsibility, budget constraints often limit progress, making community participation crucial to accelerate development.

“I will mobilise and educate residents on the importance of active involvement in development activities, especially in improving infrastructure. We are in the ‘City of Rocks’, so we will use locally available rock resources to our advantage in road construction,” she added.

She further said that her goal in vying for the councilor position is to ensure real development reaches Pasiansi Ward, promising to address other community concerns in partnership with the residents.

“I believe that through unity and cooperation, we can overcome our challenges and build a new Pasiansi with real, lasting development,” she said.
