CCAA proposes 70 business categories for 2023 awards

MORE than 70 businesses and brands are set to compete in different categories in this year’s Consumer Choice Award Africa (CCAA).

Speaking during the official launch of the 2023 awards, CCAA Managing Director, Ms Diana Laizer said in Dar es Salaam at the weekend that 22 main categories and 70 subcategories will be featured in this year’s summit where a total of 70 awards will be awarded.

“Over the past four years, we have managed to reach thousands of consumers across Africa through digital networks and collected their opinions through online platforms leading to not less than 70 awards honoured each year by consumers, which we pride to be our biggest achievement,” she said.

Some of the categories include logistics, telecoms, aviation, financial services, real estate, insurance, oil and gas, hotel and hospitality, security, fast-moving consumer goods, event and décor, fashion and design, and photography.

She said that the winners of different awards are obtained through online nominations where consumers have the room to nominate by filling in online nominations forms created on the CCAA website with the listed categories and subcategories.

“After receiving suggestions from participants in different categories, our team works internally in sorting the names and categories and evaluates each suggestion made about the criteria for each award and the final list is uploaded to the voting site for consumer selection and preference.

Voting is conducted for not less than 25 days and consumers can vote only once for each subcategory,” she said.

The nominations for 2023 are officially open and will run through the first week of next month and voting shall be announced later.
