College of Business Education (CBE) has initiated the process to establish apprenticeship training in order to help graduates penetrate easily the labour market with required qualifications and work experience.
This was said by the Principal of CBE Prof Emmanuel Mjema during the 15th graduation of the College of Business Education (CBE) Mwanza campus held at the college held here recently.
“The introduction of apprenticeship training aims to give students opportunity to learn in theory while in college and then go to factories or to various companies and institutions to learn in practice to gain experience at work,” he said.
Prof Mjema said that their college realises that the National Development Vision-2025 is to make Tanzania a middle income country.
He said he hailed the government for achieving this goal of making our country a middle economy country.
“In support of the government’s efforts to raise the education sector by having many professionals of all fields, the College continues to design and establish various programmes and provide training with national, regional and international standards of quality in order to produce professionals with the qualifications to be employed and self-employed,” he added.
Speaking at the event, the Deputy Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade Mr Exaud Kigahe, “In an exalted and productive performance, which brings progress is based on the inspiration of science and technology.
“It is the responsibility of every graduate to accept and be more excited about the inspiration of science and technology.”
He said that the education the graduates received should be a springboard to start a business so that they can be self-employed and employ other Tanzanians.
He said on behalf of the government, he has received the challenges of the College, which include the lack of buildings, especially the hostels and the absence of a fence around the college area.
He has warned the graduates not to be part of complaining about unemployment but to bring a solution to unemployment by using the education they have acquired.
