Call: Sort out Feisal contract amicably
PRESIDENT Samia Suluhu Hassan has directed the management of Young Africans to amicably solve the existing contract saga with their player Feisal Salum ‘Fei Toto.’
She made the directive during a dinner event at the State House in Dar es Salaam on yesterday evening organised to congratulate Yanga for reaching in the finals of CAF Confederation Cup.
“It does not make me happy to hear that a club is in conflict with a player, this is not good at all.
“To the management, let me request you to end your misunderstandings with Feisal…it does not make sense for a big club of your status to be in conflict with such a young player,” the President said.
She added that she will be waiting for the feedback on the development of the issue and whenever they are ready, they should visit her for the feedback.
Recently, Feisal appealed to the general public to contribute money so that he can take the case to the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) where he said he believes that justice will be served.
However, earlier at the same dinner gala, Yanga president Hersi Said presented one of the CAF medals they won as runners-up of the 2022/23 CAF Confederation Cup to President Samia insisting that she deserved it.
In his brief remarks, Hersi narrated that without her visionary leadership and guidance, they could not have reached far in the confederation cup contest.
“We value a lot motivation that you provided for buying each goal that we scored and the money was going direct to the players a thing that fueled their motivation to do well,” Hersi said.
He added that as a club, they will do whatever it takes to become the first side in the country to bring a CAF title while insisting that under her leadership, they will keep on winning the league title as they are heading to pocket the 29th Mainland Premier League silverware.
He also appreciate the President’s gesture to provide the Dreamliner aircraft to and from Algeria saying it simplified their movement.
Again, Hersi requested President Samia to consider the land extension at the club’s headquarters located at Jangwani street in Kariakoo to enable the club to construct a state-of-the-art stadium, a request that Samia replied that it has been noted and will be worked at.
Again, Hersi opened up that the scene during their second leg Confederation Cup final against USM Alger in Algeria was hostile such that it was not easy to emerge winners under such circumstances.
“It was not football but war, those who were at the stadium can bear testimony, flares were being fired as if we were under attack,” he said.
