DAR ES SALAAM: Simba have been held to a 1-1 draw by ASEC Mimosas in a thrilling CAF Champions League match.
The duo have shared spoils in their opening fixture of the group stage of the competition at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam on Saturday.
Saidi Ntibazonkiza put the Reds upfront through a spot kick awarded in the closing stages of the first half.
In the last stanza, substitute Serge Pokou leveled the deficit with a clinical finish.
Up next, Simba travel to play Jwaneng Galaxy in Botswana next Saturday.
It is going to be the first away match for the country’s flag bearers in this year’s champions league mission.
