The Ministry of Culture, Arts and Sports has promised to award the gallant Fountain Gate Girls 10m/- for clinching the CAF African Schools Football Championship in South Africa over the weekend.
The docket’s Minister Dr Pindi Chana promised to release the cash in Dar es Salaam Tuesday when she was congratulating the team and management for a strengthened technical bench.
“When we met at Chamazi during the regional competitions you promised me that you will win, and you have actually won. When we met again for the second time on March 31, 2023 you promised that you are going to clinch the African Championship. You have fulfilled your promise,” Dr Pindi said immediately after the newly crowned team players land at Julius Nyerere International Airport (JNIA) in Dar es Salaam today.
Meanwhile, the Minister said that the team has received an invitation from Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa to attend the Parliamentary session on Thursday.
The brave girls secured a 3-0 triumph over Moroccan side Ecole Omar IBN Khatab in a final match thereby bringing home the decorated silverware for the first time.
