BoT wins accolades at Financial Services Week Exhibition

TANGA: The Bank of Tanzania (BoT) has won two awards, along with a certificate of participation at the Financial Services Week Exhibition, which concluded yesterday in Tanga.

During the exhibition, BoT provided financial education to over 3,000 citizens, a move that earned it the Mobilization Award and the Sponsorship Award, recognizing its significant contribution in organizing and successfully facilitating the event.

The exhibition, held under the theme “Financial Education: The Foundation for Social and Economic Development,” was officially closed by the Regional Commissioner of Tanga, Ambassador Dr. Batlida Burian. In her closing remarks, she urged citizens, especially women, to borrow from licensed financial institutions under the supervision of BoT, to avoid predatory loans from unregulated lenders.

“Women, do not engage in loans with harsh conditions when the Government, through licensed financial institutions, has created a safe borrowing environment. Ensure you borrow from recognized institutions licensed by the Bank of Tanzania,” said Ambassador Dr. Batlida.

Through its participation in the exhibition, BoT continues to emphasize the importance of purposeful borrowing from licensed institutions as a way to safeguard financial security and enhance citizens’ welfare.
