Bocco, Ntibanzokiza ‘break Prisons’ as Simba win 7-1

Simba have awarded their fans a befitting New Year award after mauling a 10-man Tanzania Prisons 7-1.

  • The duo have settled their differences at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam on Friday evening.

Two hat-tricks from skipper John Bocco and Saidi Ntibazonkiza were enough for the Reds to march into the new year with chest up.

Aside from netting three goals, Ntibazonkiza also orchestrated the opening goal slotted in by Bocco in the 12th minute on his debut match for the Msimbazi street side.

Shomari Kapombe sealed the deal in the 87th minute courtesy of a powerful header as Tanzania Prisons conceded the first heavy defeat of the campaign.

It is the first time this season for one match to produce two hat-tricks as Simba continue to be lethal on the target.

Overall, there are four hat-tricks recorded in the league and Simba have so far scored 47 goals from 19 games more than any other team on the log.

Prisons suffer a setback in the 23rd minute when Samson Mbangula was red-carded for fouling center-back Henock Inonga who was stretched out the pitch for Kennedy Juma.

They however sourced the solitary goal in the 27th minute from Jeremiah Juma who made it 1-1 but was too little to save his team to safety.

With the defeat, they have missed out a chance to be awarded 30m/- pledged by one of their sponsors had they managed to carry the day.
