Big boost for Simba as CAF okays Mkapa Stadium

DAR ES SALAAM: IT is a big boost for Simba as their return leg match with Al Masry will be staged at the Benjamin Mkapa stadium after the venue was approved for the international games today.

In a statement released by Tanzania Football Federation(TFF) through its Information and Communication Officer, Clifford Ndimbo, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has allowed the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam to be used for the quarterfinal and semifinal matches of the CAF Champions League (CAF CL) and the CAF Confederation Cup (CAF CC) 2024/2025.

The stadium was approved for use after a recent inspection by CAF auditors, following its previous suspension for failing to meet CAF’s requirements.

Although the stadium has been cleared for use, CAF will continue to closely monitor the ongoing improvements at the facility.

Simba host Al Masry at Benjamin Mkapa on April 9 this year, a week after their first leg match at New Suez Stadium in Ismailia, Egypt, on April 2nd this year.
