Acting Commander further said the child’s father noticed the problem after seeing her child experiencing pain when attending a call of nature, a situation that prompted him to collaborate with the child’s mother in investigating the matter.

The father later reported the matter to the police, prompting law enforcement agent to get down to business.

“Soon after it was reported to the police station, the doctor examined the victim before he established that the child was indeed sexually abused,” the regional boss said.

ACP Maro said the investigation was ongoing and legal procedures were underway for the suspect to be taken to court.

“To save our children from sexual abuse, we must teach them to be careful, children should not trust anyone, and they should report people with bad intention,” he urged.

He also told members of the community to take the issue of child abuse seriously by bringing to the police gender desk the victims of acts of violence so that they can get legal help.

“We believe that a person who commits such acts affects our families and the nation as a whole because a good family is a foundation stone of a good nation, if we destroy the family then we won’t have a good nation in future,” he said.
