Bahi residents celebrate 52.6bn/- projects in 4yrs

DODOMA: RESIDENTS of Bahi District in Dodoma Region have expressed their gratitude to the government for implementing various development projects that have significantly improved their lives and resolved many long-standing challenges.

Speaking to reporters during the celebration of President Samia’s four years in office dubbed “Samia Day”, the residents highlighted key achievements in sectors such as education, health, water, roads, electricity, agriculture, Tanzania Social Action Fund (TASAF) and special group loan programs, which have brought significant progress to the Bahi community.

Mr Paskal Mangwela, a resident of Lamaiti Ward, said their ward has greatly benefited, with more than 1bn/- allocated for strategic projects.

“Through TASAF and the 10 per cent loans, residents of this ward have been economically empowered. As Lamaiti residents, we are indebted to no one, we owe everything to our President,” he said.

On his part, Juma Hashimu, a resident of Kongogo Village in Babayu Ward said a total of 5.6bn/- allocated for the ongoing irrigation scheme project, expected to be accomplished in August, this year, signifies the government’s intention to boost Agricultural sector which employs majority in the area.

“We also received 500m/- for the construction of a health centre, 100m/- for a bridge, and 30m/- for a secondary school laboratory. These are achievements we had not expected for a long time,” he added.

Councilor for Lamaiti Ward, Mr Donald Mejitii said “Samia Day” has become a special day to celebrate and reflect on the four-year achievements of President Samia’s leadership.

He noted that water projects have enabled villagers to access clean water, schools have received more classrooms and improved toilets and communities have been empowered through modern livestock practices.

Meanwhile, the Bahi District Commissioner, Mr Johakimu Tobias said the event aimed to showcase the progress achieved during the past four years and to outline the district’s development direction for the coming years.

He stated that Bahi District, comprising four divisions, 22 wards, 59 villages, and 552 hamlets, has benefited from projects worth more than 52.6bn/- over the fouryear period.

He emphasized that the funds have impacted various sectors including education, health, infrastructure, energy and social services.

“These achievements have touched all residents of Bahi. It is now our responsibility to safeguard peace, unity and fully participate in the upcoming general election,” said the District Commissioner
