Aziz Ki hits hat trick to win Golden Boot
DAR ES SALAAM: YOUNG African Burkinabé player Stephan Aziz Ki of Young Africans won the NBC Premier League’s Golden Boot after scoring a hat-trick to help his team win 4-1 against Tanzania Prisons at Azam Complex in Dar es Salaam yesterday.
Aziz Ki won the award with 21 goals two more ahead of his closest rival, Azam FC’s Feisal Salum who reached 19 goals after scoring a goal in his team’s 2-0 victory over Geita Gold at Nyankumbu Stadium in Geita yesterday.
It was a closely contested race between the two attacking midfielders, as they were equal in goal tallying before their last encounter yesterday.
The second runner up in the Golden Boot award is KMC’s Waziri Junior with 12 goals, Young African’s Max Nzengeli and Simba’s Saido Ntibanzonkiza both with eleven goals.

Following this win, Young Africans finished the season at the top of the table with 80 points.
It’s interesting to note that Young Africans have shown an upward trend in their performance over the last three seasons, winning the title each time.
In the 2021/22 season, they won the league title with 74 points, and in the 2022/23 season, they improved this tally to 78 points.
This trend demonstrates that Young Africans have been consistently increasing their points tally season after season.
This upward trend is not only evident in the points they have accumulated but also in the number of goals they have scored.
They scored 49 goals in the 2021/22 season, 61 goals in the 2022/23 season, and 67 goals in the 2023/24 season.
