AZANIA Bank has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Community Development, Gender and Children and Special Groups to cooperate in developing and empowering the citizen in various social and economic fields through plans, programmes, schemes and budgets.
According to the MoU signed in Dar es Salaam over the weekend, Azania Bank through technical structures, professional advice, training and financial education as well as banking and financial services will reach the people so that they can develop themselves and bring about development by making good use of the resources available in their areas.
Speaking during the signing ceremony, the Permanent Secretary in the ministry, Zainab Chaula thanked the bank for agreeing to cooperate with the ministry and show willingness to work with the government in enhancing socio and economic development.
It is right time that banks reach out to the people so that they be empowered to be able to use make of various sources and opportunities made available by the government.
The Managing Director of the Bank, Esther Mang’enya said Azania Bank was pleased to work with the ministry in delivering much-needed services to the people top help in alleviating poverty by providing proper understanding of the best way to use the opportunities around them.
“In collaboration with the Ministry of Social Development, Gender, Women and Special Groups, Bank of Azania will provide appropriate services to reach groups and beneficiaries through its branches and service areas”, she said.
