DAR ES SALAAM: AZAM FC Coach, Youssouph Dabo, remains hopeful despite a modest start to the season, after Azam’s 0-0 draw against JKT Tanzania on Wednesday.

In a post-match interview, Coach Dabo expressed dissatisfaction with the result, but acknowledged promising performance of his new players.

He noted that while the team did not secure a win in their league opener, he is encouraged by how quickly the new recruits are adapting to the squad.

“It’s challenging for new recruits to seamlessly integrate into the style we showcased last season.

However, we will ensure we stick together and build understanding on the pitch,” Dano said.

Despite a solid overall performance, the match ended goalless, prompting Dabo to call for greater efficiency moving forward.

He remained optimistic, emphasising that the season is just beginning and promised improvements in future fixtures.

“We cannot judge the team based on the lone game. We will continue to work hard to deliver better performances in upcoming matches,” Dabo said.

When asked about the title race, Dabo remained cautious, suggesting it is too early for predictions. Nonetheless, he assured fans that Azam FC will strive to give their best in every game.

In contrast, JKT Tanzania’s Head Coach, Hamady Ally, praised his team’s resilience.

Despite the draw, Ally expressed satisfaction with his squad’s defensive performance against a strong Azam side.

“I commend my team and the technical bench. Our performance against Azam was commendable, and I was particularly impressed with our defensive solidity,” Ally stated.

Looking forward, Ally promised that his team will continue to improve and aim for positive results to remain competitive throughout the season.

“We will focus on improving with each match and strive to be a strong team ready for any competition,” he said.

Azam FC’s next match is against Kinondoni Municipal Council (KMC) on September 26 at KMC Complex in Dar es Salaam. Meanwhile, JKT Tanzania will face Coastal Union on September 25 at Major General Isamuhyo Stadium.
