Azam new coach lands as Chamazi giants face Young Africans

Azam’s newly appointed Head Coach Denis Lavagne has arrived in the country, ready to resume new challenge at the club.

The Frenchman tactician was received by Azam’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Abdulkarim Amin ‘Popat’ upon arrival at Julius Nyerere International Airport (JNIA) in Dar es Salaam.

He is going to witness from stands his team’s explosive Premier League fixture against Young Africans pegged at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium later today.

He succeeds Abdihamid Moallin at the helm of the Chamazi giants who was recently sacked after guiding the team to one win and a draw in their two opening league fixtures.

Lavagne is a holder of UEFA Pro License and he once trained Cameroon national team (2011-2012) as well as coaching Algeria’s USM Alger and JS Kabylie sides.

He also steered Etoile Du Sahel of Tunisia in 2013, Smouha of Egypt and Coton Sports of Cameroon plus Al Hilal of Sudan.

One of his success recordS was stamped in 2008 when he drove Coton Sports to the CAF Champions League finals but lost 4-2 to Al Ahly of Egypt.
