Azam hammer KMC
AZAM FC beat Kinondoni Municipal Council (KMC) 4-0 yesterday at KMC Complex Stadium to record their first Mainland Premier League victory this season.
Iddy Selemani broke the deadlock in the 18th minute as the ice cream makers asserted dominance.
It was Feisal Salum’s pinpoint assist that set up the goal, which showcased Azam’s sharp attacking abilities from the get-go.
With their strength in midfield and attacking line, Azam dominated the game throughout, winning duels, maintaining pressure on KMC’s defence repeatedly.
KMC struggled to find their rhythm against Azam, despite their efforts to create opportunities.
Azam’s offensive intensity increased as the second half began.
Lusajo Mwaikenda doubled the lead in the 54th minute with an expertly placed shot from the right wing, set up by Feisal Salum.
In just a few minutes, Nassor Saadun slipped the ball past the KMC goalkeeper without the assistance of teammates, turning the game 3-0 in Azam’s favour.
KMC, visibly shaken by Azam’s relentless assault, fought to regain their composure but faltered in defense.
In the 64th minute, Feisal continued his stellar performance by initiating a swift counterattack.

His perfectly placed cross found Nathaniel Chilambo, who made no mistake in sealing the deal with Azam’s fourth goal.
The victory marks a significant turnaround for Azam under the newly appointed Head Coach, Rachid Taoussi, especially following back-to back goalless draws against JKT Tanzania and the newly promoted side, Pamba Jiji.
Currently, Azam sit on sixth place with five points from three matches, while KMC are in the eighth place with four points from the same number of games. With the win, Azam FC are poised for a promising season ahead.
