Azam beat Polisi Tanzania 1-0 to regain second spot

Azam have regained the second spot on the NBC Premier League table after a generating a 1-0 win over Polisi Tanzania at Ushirika Stadium in Moshi on Monday afternoon.

Ayoub Lyanga’s 15th minute goal was enough to hand his side a deserved away victory as they continue to put on serious face in chase of the championship.

With the outcome, the Chamazi based side have relocated Simba to the third place on the log.

Leaders Young Africans and Azam have each accumulated 35 points to fill the first and second slots while Simba have bagged 34 points to sit third.

Singida Big Stars are fourth on the ladder with 27 points whereas Geita Gold scoops the fifth place with 22 points in the bag.

The nosedive is rather a poor reception to Polisi Tanzania’s newly paraded Head Coach Mwinyi Zahera who has a big task to push them up from the bottom of the table.

The Moshi giants still remain plastered at the base of the table with 9 points from 15 games, a trend not convincing for them.

As such, the former Yanga coach is obliged to ensure that he lifts them away from the relegation zone by winning most of their upcoming league assignments.
