Awesu, Junior score as KMC stun JKT

DAR ES SALAAM: A 10-man KMC have picked their first win of the season after stunning newcomers JKT Tanzania 2-1.

The early kick-off match at Uhuru Stadium in Dar es Salaam on Friday afternoon saw Awesu Awesu and Waziri Junior scoring for KMC.

Debutants JKT Tanzania responded late into the game courtesy of Edward Songo who coolly headed into the back of the net at the 85th minute.

However, KMC were reduced to 10 players on the pitch when Masoud Abdallah was shown marching orders for fouling JKT Tanzania’s Hassan Dilunga in the 93rd minute.

The last minutes of the game witnessed the visitors piling a lot of pressure on the hosts in an effort to equalize but time was not their friend.

Until now, JKT Tanzania continued to search for their first win of the campaign.

For the Kinondoni based outfits, the outcome is sweet to them.
