ATOGS to lead Tanzanian delegation to tech conference in US

THE  Association of Tanzania Oil & Gas Service Providers (ATOGS) is expected to lead a Tanzanian delegation to Offshore Technology Conference and Exhibition (OTC) to be held in Texas USA next week.

As part of the preparation and in collaboration with US Commercial Service at the US Embassy in Dar Es Salaam, ATOGS held a pre-trade mission meeting on Thursday with a delegation of companies in the Energy, Oil & Gas sectors travelling to the US.

The meeting was chaired by the Board Chairman, Mr Abdulsamad Abdulrahim and attended by Mr Ken Walsh, Senior Commercial Officer from US Commercial Service Tanzania, Mr Andrew Mahiga, Commercial Specialist from US Commercial Service, Tanzanians and ATOGS travelling members to the USA.

Commenting on the event, ATOGS Chairman said, “the trade mission meeting is aimed at preparing and briefing travelling delegation about the trip, secured meetings, travelling itineraries, and addressing their expectations,”

Tanzania delegation composed of nine industry executives and CEOs will be travelling to Houston, Texas to attend the OTC scheduled for 1 – 4 May, this year.

The ATOC Chairman said the Tanzania delegation will have the opportunity to access educational and technical workshops at the OTC, hold Business to Business matchmaking (B2B) with potential investors and Joint Venture partners and attend special networking events.

“Our delegation will also have access to the International Business Center lounge, networking with over 59,000 energy professionals from more than 40 countries that will be there as well as connect with global chief executive officers-suite leaders and over 100 speakers to discover what innovations we can expect over the next 50 years,” he said.

He further noted that the delegation will have an opportunity to meet with high-level executives, various globally renowned manufacturers, and suppliers, visit innovation and technology solutions centres and learn industry Best Practices.
