ATCL to launch Dodoma– Mwanza flights in December

DODOMA: AIR Tanzania Company Limited (ATCL) will launch flights on the Dodoma–Mwanza route by December 2025 as part of its efforts to expand its domestic network.
Plans are also underway to assess possible flights from Dodoma to Mbeya and Arusha. Deputy Minister for Transport, David Kihenzile, shared the update in the National Assembly in response to a question by Ilemela MP Dr Angelina Mabula (CCM), who asked when ATCL would introduce flights from Dodoma to Mwanza, Mbeya and Arusha to reduce travel costs for passengers.
Kihenzile said ATCL is expanding its route network in line with its strategic plan and market demand, currently serving 26 destinations from Dar es Salaam, including 14 domestic ones.

In a follow-up question, Dr Mabula asked when flights from Dodoma to Mwanza and Kilimanjaro would begin.
In response, the deputy minister said the government is continuing to strengthen ATCL while upgrading airports across various regions to enhance transportation services.
He added that ATCL currently operates a fleet of 16 aircraft serving both domestic and international routes, and he encouraged other airlines to capitalise on the improved airport infrastructure and invest in domestic air travel.
