ARUSHA: RESIDENTS of Arusha are expected to benefit much from Mama Samia Legal Aid campaign which aims to solve several cases, most notably land and marital disputes.
Mama Samia Legal Aid is team of lawyers whose campaign is to enhance access to justice for residents through provision of legal aid including legal counseling and education.
The team’s arrival in Arusha was graced by Arusha Regional Commissioner, Paul Makonda who commended the efforts of Legal aid and access to justice.
In his statement to the residents Makonda lauded the Legal Aid Campaign since it addresses the challenges faced by the residents, regardless of their background, particularly those who are deprived of justice due to their economic status, educational limitations, or even their physical appearance.
This initiative highlights the government’s commitment to upholding the rights of all citizens, regardless of their social or economic standing.
Makonda made the remarks during the official launch of the Mama Samia Legal Aid Campaign for the Arusha region today.
“In the pursuit of justice, there are times when you are misunderstood simply because you lack education or the ability to articulate your case. At other times, you may not have the financial means, and your appearance may not inspire anyone to listen to you. Even if you speak up, they may see you as wasting their time. You may find yourself without someone to support you, and when you reach public offices, you are told to wait, even when the boss is there. You end up spending hours waiting…” Makonda remarked.
