Ardhi University Innovation Expo attracts partnerships as research week bears fruits

DAR ES SALAAM: RESEARCH and innovation exhibitions held at Ardhi University have begun to yield tangible results after various institutions expressed interest in partnering with the university in research, innovation and technology development.

Speaking at the closing of the five-day exhibition in Dar es Salaam on May 22, Ardhi University Vice Chancellor Professor Evaristo Liwa said the event had opened new opportunities for collaboration, including growing engagement from the Tanzanian Embassy in Japan following the success of the exhibition.

The exhibition, held from May 18 to 22, was organised jointly by Ardhi University and the Ministry of Lands, Housing and Human Settlements Development and marked the first innovation and research showcase of its kind at the institution.

Professor Liwa said the achievements recorded during the exhibition should serve as a foundation for expanding research initiatives that directly address challenges facing citizens and contribute to national development.

He further urged students to continue using the knowledge acquired at the university to develop innovations and research projects capable of solving societal problems and driving economic transformation.

Meanwhile, the Coordinator of the Dar es Salaam Regional Land Clinic from the Ministry of Lands, Laurent Muswani, said more than 400 residents visited the university during the exhibition to access land-related services.

He noted that some residents managed to obtain land title deeds while others received solutions to longstanding land disputes and administrative challenges.

Muswani said the response demonstrated the university’s growing role in bringing education, research and innovation closer to the public by providing practical solutions to community challenges, particularly in the land sector.

Student innovators Zakia Nassoro and Cosmas Peter said the exhibition had given them an important platform to showcase their innovations and called on the university to make the event an annual programme.
