Young Africans have marched into the second preliminary round of CAF Champions League (CAF CL) courtesy of an aggregate 9-0 triumph over Zalan FC.
The Jangwani street giants have recorded a heavy 5-0 victory in the reverse leg match held at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam on Saturday night.
Top striker Fiston Mayele was once again a hero after netting a second hat-trick in two successive champions league games against the South Sudan’s side who have consequently being bundled out of the competition.
After a rocky opening forty-five minutes which elapsed goalles, Yanga responded swiftly early in the second half with Farid Mussa breaking the deadlock in the 47th minute.
Eleven minutes later, Stephanie Aziz Ki made it 2-0 via a brilliant long range strike just outside the box before Mayele sealed the deal in the 60th, 63rd and 66th minute to walk away with the match’s ball.
He has scored three goals in the span of only six minutes.
It was a deserved win for Nasreddine Nabi’s men who have already declared that their intention is to reach in the group stage of the biggest club football competition on the continent.
Tomorrow, (Sunday) another CAF CL envoys Simba take on Nyasa Big Bullets at the same venue with the former already having a 2-0 away advantage they stamped in the first leg in Lilongwe, Malawi.
