Analysts optimistic about new CCM Vice – Chairman

DODOMA: POLITICAL analysts and academicians have expressed strong optimism following the election of Stephen Masato Wasira as the new Vice Chairman (Mainland) of the ruling party-CCM, saying his experience and leadership ability will help the party to prevail.

They said his extensive leadership experience and deep understanding of governance and party operations are crucial to the party’s continued growth and political stability.

A veteran politician and steadfast party member, Wasira was nominated by the CCM National Executive Council (NEC) to succeed Mr Abdulrahman Kinana as the party’s Vice Chairman (Mainland).

He was overwhelmingly endorsed by the party’s General Assembly, securing 1,910 out of 1,917 votes. Wasira takes over from Abdulrahman Kinana, who resigned from the position last year.

Speaking to the SUNDAY NEWS yesterday, a political analyst from the University of Dodoma, Dr Paul Loisulie said CCM has continued with its tradition of appointing seasoned leaders to key positions, a practice that has bolstered the party’s resilience.

He said Mr Wasira’s extensive experience, having served in nearly every government administration and held various key positions within the party, makes him an ideal choice for the role.

“CCM has a tradition of selecting individuals with significant experience for the position of Vice Chairman and this has been a cornerstone of the party’s continued growth.

The position is crucial within the party, as the person in this role also serves as the chairman of ethics.

It is essential that they possess the necessary experience,” he explained. He added: “Mr Wasira has the ability to navigate any challenges that may arise, thanks to his vast experience.

He is a seasoned veteran within the party who has consistently demonstrated exceptional skill in addressing issues and defending the party.

Without a doubt, they have chosen the right person to support the continued growth and development of CCM.”

He insisted that Mr Wasira’s calm demeanor in debates and his unwavering defence of the party’s principles make him an excellent choice to unite and strengthen CCM.

Another political analyst based in Mwanza, Mr Hamiduni Maliseli, described Mr Wasira as one of CCM’s most valuable political assets, highlighting his courage, effective problemsolving abilities and his willingness to speak truth to power within the party.

He added that Mr Wasira’s extensive political career has given him the foresight to identify and address potential obstacles, ensuring the party remains focused on achieving its objectives.

“He is a veteran politician with vast experience, having witnessed and navigated numerous challenges.

His background has given him a deep understanding of how to approach issues and what actions need to be taken at the right time,” he said.
