Expected participants include business leaders, business networks or chambers of commerce, private sector representatives and the African diaspora.

The High Commissioner made the remarks after meeting with the Irish Ambassador to the UK, Mr Martin Fraser, during a brief event that attracted heads of mission accredited to Ireland.

The event centred around sharing information about the upcoming forum. The flagship event, hosted by Ireland’s Department of Foreign Affairs and the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment, aims to strengthen economic ties between the two regions by fostering dialogue on innovation, sustainability and shared prosperity.

With a focus on key sectors such as agribusiness, renewable energy and technology, the forum will provide a platform for networking, knowledge exchange and forging partnerships that promote mutual economic growth.

The forum’s main objectives include promoting increased trade and investment between Ireland and African countries, facilitating engagement between Irish and African companies with sectoral partners and fostering connections with government bodies, as well as multilateral and trade organisations.

Other key objectives include advancing dialogue on trade policy between governments, the private sector and international organisations, as well as utilising the event to promote opportunities and enhance understanding of market access in both the European Union and Africa.

The forum is expected to attract more than 400 participants, including foreign and trade ministers from Africa and Ireland, senior officials from international financial institutions such as the African Development Bank (AfDB) and the European Investment Bank (EIB) and representatives from multilateral organisations such as the World Trade Organisation (WTO), the European Union (EU), the African Union (AU), the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).

The event will include a series of expert panels, breakout sessions and workshops, focusing on key areas such as shaping trade for mutual prosperity, innovation for sustainable growth, people and prosperity, powering the green transition and enabling business and driving growth.

High Commissioner Kairuki reiterated that the forum presents an excellent opportunity for Tanzania to market its investment and business opportunities.

He added that, apart from the Tanzania High Commission’s efforts in promoting the country’s business prospects, participants from Tanzania will benefit from networking, knowledge exchange and the chance to form partnerships that foster economic growth.

“In today’s competitive business world, networking, knowledge exchange and partnerships are essential for members of the business community.

The upcoming forum in Dublin is an ideal gathering for our participants from Tanzania,” High Commissioner Kairuki said.
