DODOMA: PRIME Minister Kassim Majaliwa has directed all government executives to ensure that the priorities outlined in the 2025/2026 National Development Plan are properly reflected in their institutions’ plans.
He said the plan focuses on advancing and completing the implementation of interventions that deliver results in the five priority areas of the Third Five-Year National Development Plan.
Mr Majaliwa issued the directives on Friday while adjourning the 17th meeting of the 12th Parliament in Dodoma yesterday where he said that the government through the President’s Office (Planning and Investment) had presented the National Development Plan proposals for the year 2025/2026.
According to him, the government in collaboration with the private sector will put emphasis in flagship projects with significant benefits and outcomes aligning with the priorities of the National Development Plan for the year 2025/2026.
The Premier said that the priorities include stimulating a competitive and inclusive economy, strengthening industrial production capacity and service delivery, promoting investment and trade, driving human development; and advancing human resources.

Meanwhile, the government has directed accounting officers and all government officials to adhere to the laws, regulations and procedures of public finances in order to achieve the dreams and goals of President Dr Samia Suluhu Hassan in bringing sustainable development to the Tanzanians.
Mr Majaliwa said that the government’s goal is to continue providing quality services to the public by strengthening a culture of accountability in the management and proper control of revenue collection and expenditures.
The PM also said that during the 12th Parliament sessions, the reports from Parliamentary Committees were received and thoroughly discussed, including the Public Accounts Committee (PAC), the Local Authorities Accounts Committee (LAAC) and the Public Investments Committee (PIC) for the 2022/2023 financial year, which ended on June 30, 2023.
The Prime Minister said that the committee reports resulted from the Controller and Auditor General’s reports.
“I commend your esteemed Parliament for thoroughly analysing all audit issues related to public expenditure, as well as making resolutions that essentially serve as specific directives to the government,” he noted.
“I direct all ministries to prepare timely reports on the implementation of all resolutions in line with the recommendations provided by the Parliamentary Committees and submit them to the Prime Minister’s Office so that the government report can be presented to the Speaker.
We are all witnesses that the government has continued to work on the recommendations provided by the National Audit Office under the leadership of the Controller and Auditor Genera Mr Charles Kichere and it has continued to adhere to all directives issued by your esteemed Parliament through various resolutions,” added the Premier.
