DAR ES SALAAM: ALAF Limited has attributed its recent success at the Presidential Manufacturer of the Year Awards (PMAYA) to among other things consistency and significant investment in quality.
The ALAF Limited External Affairs Manager, Hawa Bayumi said this was the 18th consecutive year of PMAYA and that they have been bagging awards year after year.
She said they received three major awards including, outstanding exhibitor in the TIMExpo2024, Winner- Large scale metal sector manufacturer (for the 15th consecutive time) and 2nd runner up- Manufacturer of the year 2024.
The awards were presented by the Vice President Dr. Phillip Mpango who graced the occasion alongside other government officials and CTI top management, who are the main organizers of the Awards that recently took place the Superdome, Masaki in Dar es Salaam.
She said the Awards recognize outstanding manufacturers in Tanzania for their contributions to the economy, innovation, people management, ESG and quality, celebrating their achievements in advancing the country’s industrial sector.
“The objectives of the awards are threefold: to recognize excellence in manufacturing, to encourage innovation, and to promote inclusivity by welcoming all Tanzanian manufacturers to participate,” she noted.
She further stated that ALAF will continue coming up with best building solutions as the oldest steel building solutions provider in the country to ensure Tanzanians get value for money.
“Our colour coating plant is almost ready and will start production in December which shows our commitment to produce the best for the Tanzanian market. We will no longer import coloured iron sheets,” she said.
According to Hawa, 30 young engineers have already undergone training on how to operate the plant that will be run by Tanzanians by 100%.
She thanked the Confederation of Tanzania Industries (CTI) for its endless support and also for organizing the awards that bring together all manufacturers countrywide.
