Airtel tanzania goes the extra mile for customers during customer service week

DAR ES SALAAM: Airtel Tanzania has reaffirmed its commitment to putting customers at the centre of its operations as it joins the global celebration of Customer Service Week under the theme “Extra Mile.”

Airtel Tanzania says the celebration is more than a week-long activity, but a reflection of its continued commitment to delivering quality service, listening to customers and constantly improving their experience.

Speaking during the celebrations, Airtel Tanzania Managing Director Charles Kamoto thanked employees, customers, partners and stakeholders for the role they continue to play in the company’s growth journey.

“To our Airtel team, I commend and thank you for your continued dedication to serving our customers and for always being ready to do more to deliver quality service. Your commitment and hard work make a difference every day,” said Kamoto.

He praised Airtel employees for continuing to live by the company’s Step Up principles of No Shortcuts, Preparation, Consistency, Discipline and Excellence, noting that every interaction with a customer is an opportunity to listen, solve a problem, learn and deliver a better experience.

Kamoto also expressed appreciation to Airtel customers for continuing to choose and trust the brand, stressing that their feedback remains an important driver of improvement across the business.

“As Airtel, we will continue strengthening connectivity across Tanzania and bringing our services closer to the people. Through connectivity, we are helping to create opportunities, support business growth, enable access to education and contribute to building a growing economy and a more connected society,” said Kamoto.

Airtel Tanzania Customer Experience Director Adriana Lyamba said this year’s “Extra Mile” theme captures the company’s ambition to go beyond basic service delivery and build stronger relationships with customers.

“Going the extra mile means being willing to do more, listen more, improve more and, most importantly, be closer to our customers ‘Kila Kona’ ” said Lyamba.

Airtel Tanzania continues to expand its footprint through shops, service points and network investments all over the country with focus on all key locations including Dar es Salaam, Arusha, Dodoma, Mwanza, Mbeya, Tunduma, Morogoro, Tanga, Mtwara, Bukoba and Zanzibar.

The company is also extending its network into rural and underserved communities through continued expansion and the rollout of new sites across different regions.

The objective, Airtel says, is to ensure that a customer’s location does not become a barrier to communication, learning, accessing opportunities or conducting business.

Lyamba added that the impact of connectivity goes far beyond telecommunications.

“When we connect a customer to the network, we are not simply providing a telecommunications service. We are enabling someone to communicate with their family, helping a business owner reach customers and conduct business, enabling a student to access information and education, and connecting communities to different opportunities,” she said.

As part of Customer Service Week, Airtel Tanzania is engaging directly with customers in different locations and communities across the country to appreciate them, listen to their experiences and collect feedback that will support further improvements in service delivery.

The engagements also reinforce the company’s belief that excellent customer service is not limited to a single week, but is an everyday responsibility.

Every question, concern and interaction, Airtel says, is an opportunity to make a positive difference.

The company has reiterated that its “Extra Mile” commitment will continue well beyond Customer Service Week through continued investment in connectivity, greater service accessibility, improved customer experiences and the creation of more opportunities for individuals, businesses and communities across Tanzania.

As Airtel Tanzania celebrates its customers and employees, the company remains committed to one guiding principle: putting customers at the heart of everything it does.
