Travellers can now buy Flydubai tickets through Airtel Money wallets, thanks to a partnership deal between Airtel Tanzania and the United Arab Emirates-owned airline.
The Airtel Money Director, Mr Andrew Rugamba, said on Wednesday at the launch of the initiative that travellers purchasing flight tickets through Airtel Money will get an upfront 10 per cent discount on both one-way and round-trip flights worldwide when they pay for their tickets using Airtel Money.
“The partnership simplifies digital payments for our customers and businesses in the country through the Airtel Money Lipa number,” he said noting that this is a three-month promotion ‘dubbed Kwea Pipa’.
He said after completing the payment process, a customer will receive a confirmation message for the payment made and an e-ticket to be used for their travel.
Mr Rugamba challenged customers to seize this opportunity to save both money and time through digital payment.
Flydubai Tanzania Manager Mr Barani Peters said the 10 per cent discount will apply on the ticket price excluding airport charges.
“The partnership deal will allow us to serve more customers digitally with Airtel Money as it is convenient and can be accessed from anywhere anytime thus ensuring reliable transport services,” he said.
Flydubai is owned by the UAE with its head office and flight operations in Dubai International Airport.
The airline flies to three destinations in the country namely Dar es Salaam, Kilimanjaro and Unguja.
