Airplanes Africa, Tanzania renew ties

MOROGORO: Tanzania’s Ambassador to the Czech Republic, based in Berlin, Germany, Hassani Iddi Mwamweta, has officially renewed the honorary representation agreement with Tanzania’s Honorary Consul in the Czech Republic, Roman Glorig, owner of Airplanes Africa Limited.
Ambassador Mwamweta signed the agreement on September 2, 2025, on behalf of Tanzania’s Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Mahmoud Thabit Kombo.

Airplanes Africa Limited is a Czech company specializing in the production of ultralight, microlight, and light sport airplanes (UL/ML/LS airplanes), known for their advanced design and technology. The company aims to transfer its assembly line to Tanzania and help lay the foundation for the country’s aviation industry, with its base planned in Morogoro.

The agreement signed with Mr Glorig reflects Tanzania’s strong commitment to deepening and expanding diplomatic relations with the Czech Republic.

According to the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, the goal of the agreement is not only to sustain the longstanding friendship but also to foster new cooperation in key sectors such as health, education, trade, investment, and tourism.
The ministry further noted that this partnership is expected to enhance the exchange of expertise between Tanzanian and Czech citizens, boost efforts to promote Tanzanian products and tourist destinations, attract more Czech investors, and support initiatives aimed at improving social welfare and sustainable development.

This moves underscores Tanzania’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its international presence while exploring new collaborative opportunities with development partners for the benefit of the nation and its people.
