He also congratulated the Tanzania Tourism Board (TTB) for being crowned Africa’s best Tourism Board, saying the award to TTB was indeed a testimony of the efforts done by the new Chief Executive Officer, Damas Mfugale to rebrand Tanzania.

“To you my brother Damas Mfugale, I am of the opinion that the world has seen your efforts and recognize your relentless strive to brand Tanzanian destinations, please keep up the good work,” Mr Mafuru told the TTB boss.

The Dubai based World Travel Awards also recognised Zara Tours, the Arusha based travel and tour company as Africa’s leading tour operator. The announcement for the winners took place in Dubai at the weekend.

The AICC MD promised to collaborate with all the tourism stakeholders, including the winners, to bring more business tourists and strategies on how to invest heavily in the congress tourism and improving facilities and service delivery.
