DAR ES SALAAM: The African Lions Foundation has made a significant impact through its Play 2 Zero project by planting 200 coffee seedlings and distributing sports equipment to Kerezange Primary School in Kitunda, Dar es Salaam.
Ernest Mzirai, Investment Manager at the African Carbon Agency, highlighted that the tree planting effort aims to mitigate greenhouse gases caused by deforestation.
Speaking at the event on Wednesday, Mzirai explained that the Play 2 Zero policy encompasses two main components: “Play,” which focuses on enhancing sports, and “Zero,” which emphasizes environmental sustainability.
The donated sports equipment will support students in improving their sports skills, thereby contributing to the development of the national sports sector from a young age.
He also added that the tree planting initiative under the “Zero” component aims to reduce atmospheric greenhouse gases and combat climate change.
