DAR ES SALAAM: THE President of the Tanzania Federation of Fine Arts (TAFCA), Adrian Nyangamalle, has resigned from his position.
The announcement was made by the National Arts Council (BASATA) through its official social media accounts.
According to reports, BASATA’s Executive Secretary, Dr. Kedmon Mapana, has officially received Nyangamalle’s resignation letter.
In his statement, Nyangamalle explained that his decision was made in the broader interest of the industry and the arts sector as a whole.
He assured that he would continue contributing to the arts as an artist and an experienced stakeholder.

Expressing his gratitude, Nyangamalle thanked the government, BASATA, and other stakeholders for their support throughout his tenure. He also extended his appreciation to the TAFCA General Assembly members for believing in him and allowing him to serve as the federation’s first president.
Dr. Mapana commended Nyangamalle’s decision, describing it as a wise move that reflects leadership maturity and a commitment to the development of the arts sector.
He reaffirmed BASATA’s dedication to working with various stakeholders to enhance the growth of arts and artists in Tanzania.
The resignation has been met with a positive response from the arts community, with stakeholders hopeful that the federation will take a fresh direction in promoting creativity and improving the well-being of Tanzanian artists.
