Mr. Laiser underscored the bank’s commitment to gender equality, highlighting that women occupy key leadership roles within the institution. “We have various departments, including four business divisions, three of which are led by female directors who were recently promoted to executive positions. Our achievements cannot be separated from the role played by women leaders,” he said.

One of the graduates of the programme from Absa Bank, Ms. Ikunda Kishimbo, who serves as Head of Resourcing, commended the initiative for equipping participants with self-confidence and enhancing their professional skills.

The Female Future Programme aims to promote gender equality in the workplace, increase women’s representation in decision-making processes, and position them for leadership roles in both the private and public sectors.

Since its inception in 2015, the programme has trained 493 participants across various sectors.
