Tanzania joins the continental Young Women’s movement

DAR ES SALAAM: TANZANIA has officially joined the Young Women of Africa (YWA), a powerful pan-African movement that brings together young women from 41 countries with a shared vision to drive transformation through values, culture, and leadership.

Speaking during a local session in Dar es salaam, Babati District Commissioner Emmanuela kaganda clarified that the initiative is not an NGO, but a movement, a growing force of young African women committed to shaping the continent’s future by setting examples in integrity, unity, and purpose.

“This is a space for values. We are not just forming programmes, we are building character, starting at home and spreading through communities.

Tanzania’s chapter will pick what reflects us,” she said.

Moreover the Tanzanian chapter is expected to craft its own strategic focus areas while aligning with the movement’s broader vision.
