Dr. Gwajima stated that for development to truly reach communities, a change in mindset is essential so that beneficiaries can understand the value and impact of the opportunities provided. She clarified that the celebration was not just about festivities, but also a moment to assess women’s achievements in economic and political spheres and to strengthen cooperation between the government and the private sector.
She further urged women to join various economic platforms to lift themselves out of poverty and bring development to themselves and their communities.

Earlier, the Chairperson of the National Committee for International Women’s Day Celebrations, Sarah Masasi, expressed gratitude to the sponsors, acknowledging that women play a vital role in the community and the nation’s overall progress.
Meanwhile, the Managing Director of Equity Bank, Isabela Maganga, representing the sponsors, pledged to continue partnering with the government and the ministry in implementing projects aimed at advancing women’s development. She also encouraged government leaders to inform them early about future partnership opportunities.
This year’s celebrations, held in Arusha, raised over one billion shillings from various stakeholders and sponsors who supported the important event for the advancement of women in the country.
