Commonwealth members laud Tanzania’s rare legal campaign

DAR ES SALAAM: THE Mama Samia Legal Aid Campaign, touring across Tanzania, has captured the attention of several nations that participated in the recent Commonwealth Heads of State meeting held abroad.
Speaking in Dar es Salaam about the outcomes of the meeting, Tanzania’s Minister for Constitution and Legal Affairs, Dr. Damas Ndumbaro, stated that the campaign was highly commended for its significant role in enhancing access to justice for ordinary citizens—particularly women, children, and other vulnerable groups.
Dr. Ndumbaro emphasized that the campaign, initiated under the leadership of the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Samia Suluhu Hassan, is aimed at reaching people who cannot afford legal services, thereby enabling them to access justice affordably and promptly.
