Council distributes milk to 15 primary schools to boost child nutrition

DODOMA: PUPILS from 15 primary schools in Kondoa Town Council, Dodoma Region, have received a donation of 732 packs of milk, funded through the council’s internally generated revenue, as part of a broader nutrition programme aimed at promoting milk consumption in schools.
The distribution took place under the council’s initiative to improve pupils’ health and encourage nutritional awareness among both students and parents.
Speaking during the distribution event at Ubembeni Primary School, the council’s Livestock Officer, Mr Semeni Mwakasege, said the initiative also aims to inspire parents to provide milk at home and encourage other stakeholders to support similar efforts in schools.
“Milk plays a vital role in the development of children. It strengthens bones and teeth, builds muscles, supports skin health, provides energy and aids in digestion,” said Mr Mwakasege.
