BAKWATA calls for prayers to uphold peace

KILIMANJARO: THE National Muslim Council of Tanzania (BAKWATA) in Kilimanjaro Region has urged believers to pray for sustained peace in the country, particularly as the nation approaches its general election.

This appeal was made by Alhaj Awadhi Lema, Secretary of BAKWATA in Kilimanjaro, during an Iftar event hosted by Regional Commissioner Nurdin Babu.

“Our peace is paramount, enabling us to continue our nation-building efforts. As religious leaders, we must actively safeguard this peace,” Alhaj Lema emphasised.

He also urged prayers for a peaceful electoral process.

“Our peace is more important than anything else; it allows us to continue our efforts in building the nation. As religious leaders, we must ensure that peace is preserved,” he said.
