Women forum commends Samia’s endorsement
DODOMA: DODOMA Region Women’s Economic Empowerment Forum has commended President Samia Suluhu Hassan following her endorsement as the ruling CCM party’s presidential candidate, vowing to support her bid for the next five-year term.
The forum also congratulated CCM Secretary-General, Ambassador Dr Emmanuel Nchimbi for being selected as the running mate in the presidential race.
In a statement issued recently, the forum’s chairperson, Ms Maryrobbi Mabhaya said members of the platform have been thrilled by President Samia’s efforts to champion economic empowerment to women.
She cited her decision to establish regulations enabling local government authorities to set up an economic empowerment fund from 10 per cent of their internal revenues.
This initiative has facilitated access to affordable capital for women, youth and persons with disabilities engaged in entrepreneurship.
“The increase in loan funds for women, youth and persons with disabilities from 2.5bn/- in the 2021/2022 fiscal year to 3.3bn/- in 2023/2024, representing a 32 per cent rise has expanded the number of groups benefiting from council-based loans,” she noted.
She further commended the President’s commitment to uplifting vulnerable groups through the Tanzania Social Action Fund (TASAF), enabling them to meet basic needs, send children to school, access healthcare and initiate income-generating projects. Ms Mabhaya also applauded the implementation of major development projects under President Samia’s leadership.
These include the construction and rehabilitation of urban and rural roads, which have improved accessibility in all seasons and the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR), enhancing connectivity between Dodoma and Dar es Salaam for traders and commuters.

“President Samia has improved healthcare services, particularly maternal and child health, ensuring safer deliveries.
She has also enhanced education infrastructure, from primary and secondary schools to vocational training institutions and universities,” she added.
Ms Mabhaya commended the President for fostering a culture of tolerance and reconciliation, bringing various groups together for consultations and national unity.
“The forum has united all groups in support of President Samia’s leadership for another five years,” she affirmed.
Meanwhile, Ms Mwajabu Nyamkomolo from the Dodoma Regional Commissioner’s Office urged women to prepare for the upcoming National Women’s Day celebrations on March 8 in Arusha.
She encouraged the forum to actively collaborate with the government in implementing community initiatives that drive development across various sectors.
