New Kibaha factory to boost iron sheet production

COAST REGION: A NEWLY constructed factory for manufacturing raw materials used in iron sheet production, located in the Zegereni area of Kibaha Town, Coast Region, is set to produce 35,000 tonnes of raw materials annually.
The facility is also expected to create 1,500 direct jobs and an additional 5,000 indirect employment opportunities.
The Manager of Kinglion Company which owns the factory, Mr Arnold Lyimo, informed the Minister for Industry and Trade, Dr Selemani Jafo, during the launch of the 4th Regional Trade Exhibition at Mailimoja area in Kibaha Town on Tuesday, that the industry is expected to commence operations this month.
“This factory is going to contribute much in the growth of the economy of our region and the nation in general”, he said before thanking the government for its support in facilitating good environment for the construction of the plant.
Mr Lyimo further congratulated the regional government for organising the exhibitions, saying that the event is a good opportunity for investors to showcase their works and gain new customers.

For his part, Minister Jafo congratulated the company for continuing to produce goods which are of good quality and took time to insist on the importance of producing high quality products which can compete in both local and international markets.
Launching the exhibitions, Minister Jafo emphasised that the government will continue to collaborate with the investors in creating a friendly environment for investment which will result into increase in production and income as well.
“The government will continue to work hand in hand with both local and foreign investors in creating suitable environment for production which will result not only in increasing production but also producing quality goods,” he said.
Coast Regional Commissioner, Mr Abubakar Kunenge thanked Kinglion Company for being a sponsor of the exhibitions, revealing that the government was working to rehabilitate a 2.5-kilometre road at Zegereni investment area to enhance transportation services.
