TRA pledges to address taxpayers’ challenges

COAST REGION: THE Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) has pledged to listen and address challenges facing taxpayers in the country as part of efforts to improve tax collections and ensure services are delivered more efficiently.

Mr Hashim Ngoda, Commissioner from the TRA Tax Investigation Department, made the statement at Lake Steel Industry in Kibaha Town after completing a oneday tour, of three industries, organised by the TRA Coast Regional Office.

He was accompanied by TRA Coast Regional Manager Masawa Masatu and other TRA officials from regional office and headquarters.

“Our government, through TRA, intends to increase efficiency in tax collection. We cannot achieve this goal if we are not in good terms with the taxpayers,” he said.

Mr Ngoda further explained that the aim of the tour was to thank industry directors who have been faithfully paying their taxes to the government while also listening to the challenges they face in their daily operations for further intervention.
