President Samia makes minor cabinet reshuffle

ZANZIBAR: President Samia Suluhu Hassan has made minor reshuffles in the Cabinet, transferring the responsibilities of the information sector from the Ministry of Information, Communication, and Information Technology to the Ministry of Culture, Arts, and Sports.
According to a statement released by Chief Secretary Ambassador Moses Kusiluka and signed by Director of Presidential Communications Sharifa Nyanga, Prof. Palamagamba Kabudi has been appointed Minister for Information, Culture, Arts, and Sports to oversee the expanded ministry.
Mr Jerry Silaa has been named Minister for Communication and Information Technology.
Dr. Damas Ndumbaro takes over as Minister for Constitution and Legal Affairs, while Engineer Hamad Masauni assumes the role of Minister of State in the Vice President’s Office (Union and Environment).
Dr. Ashatu Kijaji has been appointed Minister for Livestock and Fisheries, Abdallah Ulega as Minister for Works, and Innocent Bashungwa as Minister for Home Affairs.
In related appointments, Gerson Msigwa has been named Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Information, Culture, Arts, and Sports, retaining his role as Chief Government Spokesperson.

Before this appointment , Msigwa served as Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Culture, Arts, and Sports, which now includes the information portfolio.
Dr James Kilabuko becomes Deputy Permanent Secretary in the Prime Minister’s Office (Policy, Parliament, and Coordination), while Dr Stephen Nindi has been appointed Deputy Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture, overseeing cooperatives and irrigation.
Additionally, Dr Suleiman Serera has been transferred from the Ministry of Agriculture to serve as Deputy Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
Ambassador Dr John Stephen Simbachawene will be assigned a new role. Hospital.
In diplomatic appointments, Mr Anderson Mutatembwa, Mr Mobhare Matinyi, Zanzibar Commissioner of Police (CP) Hamad Khamis Hamad, CP Suzan Kaganda, and Mr Thobias Makoba, who previously served as Chief Government Spokesperson, have all been appointed ambassadors and will be assigned duty stations.
President Samia has also appointed Prof. Mohamed Janabi advisor to the President on Health and Medical Affairs. Prof. Janabi will concurrently continue as the Executive Director for Muhimbili National Hospital (MNH).
The swearing-in ceremony for the appointees will take place on Tuesday at the Tunguu State House in Zanzibar, starting at 11:00 a.m.
