NCT, ENAIP MoU to boost tourism training in Tanzania

DAR ES SALAAM: THE National College of Tourism (NCT) and Ente Nazionale ACLI Istruzione Professionale (ENAIP) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance collaboration in developing the skills of trainers and students in the country’s tourism and hospitality sector.
ENAIP is one of Italy’s leading institutions specialising in hospitality training. The MoU was signed on Tuesday by the NCT Principal, Dr Florian Mtey and the President of ENAIP Veneto, Mr Antonino Ziglio while the Minister for Natural Resources and Tourism, Dr Pindi Chana witnessed the event.
Dr Chana said that the MoU will accelerate the government’s efforts to achieve its goal of attracting five million tourists by next year and generating some 6.0 billion US dollars in revenue.
“The MoU will focus on increasing the number of tourists, including capacity building and fostering cooperation between the two countries for a win-win situation,” said Dr Chana.

“We are discussing hospitality and showcasing how we are creating jobs while ensuring that both countries benefit from tourism,” said Mr Coppola, adding, “We have significant experience that we can share.” Additionally, the Ambassador said that the embassy organised two events in Dar es Salaam and Zanzibar to showcase Italian cuisine. Italian cuisine is wellknown in the country, particularly due to Italy’s significant investments in the hospitality and tourism sectors, as well as the large number of Italian tourists visiting Tanzania.
“Trainers will have the opportunity to visit universities in Italy, and they will also be supported in project writing and conducting joint research, collaborating with coaches from both countries,” said Dr Mtey.
Additionally, as a result of the agreement three trainers from ENAIP are already in the country teaching NCT students.
