Taifa Stars drop three places in FIFA rankings

DAR ES SALAAM: TANZANIA have dropped three places in the latest FIFA World Rankings released by the world football governing body, FIFA, on October 7 this year. In the rankings, Tanzania fell from 112th to 115th position.
The drop follows Taifa Stars’ 2-0 defeat to GuineaBissau before drawing 1-1 with Madagascar in their Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying matches for next year’s finals. While Tanzania dropped in the rankings, Rwanda climbed from 128th to 119th position after securing a 2-1 victory over Cape Verde before beating Liberia 3-1 in their subsequent match.

Uganda also improved by two places, moving from 89th to 87th, while Kenya dropped five places from 109th to 114th. Burundi climbed from 142nd to 140th position, while Ethiopia fell from 143rd to 147th.
The next FIFA World Rankings are scheduled to be released on November 18 this year.
