CCM Dar ordered to review its projects as some of them are not beneficial

DAR ES SALAAM: THE Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) National Executive Committee (NEC) Secretary for Economic and Financial Affairs, Jamal Kassim Ali, has called on the CCM Dar es Salaam Region to review the party’s contracts and investment projects, saying some existing agreements do not provide sufficient benefits to the party.
Jamal made the remarks on Thursday, October 8, 2026, while addressing the CCM Dar es Salaam Regional Political Committee at the CCM Lumumba Sub-Office in Dar es Salaam.
He said the party needs to conduct a comprehensive review of its contracts and investment projects to identify areas requiring improvement and ensure that CCM’s assets and resources are managed efficiently and in the party’s best interests.

He further said some investors have developed the perception that CCM is a “shamba la bibi”—a Swahili expression commonly used to describe a situation where people exploit resources with little accountability or oversight. He attributed the perception to a longstanding system that, in his view, the party needs to reform.
Jamal also called on the CCM Dar es Salaam Region to identify new sources of revenue and explore additional investment opportunities that could strengthen the party’s financial capacity.
He emphasised that such measures are essential to ensuring that the party’s resources are managed effectively and used to support CCM’s activities and development.
