Skylong Resort begins services in Zanzibar as tourism season peaks

ZANZIBAR: TODAY, September 16, 2026, the highly anticipated Skylong Resort Zanzibar officially opened its doors to guests, marking a significant milestone in the region’s tourism sector.
The grand launch event was attended by dignitaries, local officials, and members of the press, all eager to witness the unveiling of what promises to be one of Zanzibar’s premier destinations.
The resort, nestled along the pristine beaches of the island, boasts state-of-the-art facilities, luxurious accommodations, and breathtaking views of the Indian Ocean.
Speaking at the launch, Zanzibar’s Acting Tourism Minister, Mudrick Soraga, noted that the launch of Skylong Resort Zanzibar is expected to have a positive impact on the local economy, creating numerous job opportunities and promoting the island as a sought-after tourist destination.

“Local vendors and artisans are also expected to benefit from increased tourism, further enhancing the cultural experience for visitors”, the Minister noted.
During the event, Eric Leo, the resort’s Project General Manager expressed excitement about the opening, stating, “We are thrilled to welcome our first guests to Skylong Resort. Our mission is to provide an unforgettable experience while respecting the beauty and culture of Zanzibar.”
