Tanzania banks on e-Delivery digital system to monitor projects, improve coordination and financing

DAR ES SALAAM: THE Tanzanian government is strengthening the use of the e-Delivery digital system to monitor the implementation of development projects as part of efforts to improve coordination between planning, financing, implementation and project outcomes.

Secretary-General in the President’s Office for Planning and Investment, Dr Tausi Kida, said the system will capture project information from the initial planning stage through funding and implementation, enabling the Government to monitor progress in real time.

Speaking in her opening remarks at the National Planners’ Conference 2026, Dr Kida said the system will also facilitate collaboration between the President’s Office for Planning and Investment and the Ministry of Finance to ensure that the release of funds corresponds with the implementation stages and financing requirements of projects included in government plans.

“The National Planning Commission will be responsible for monitoring project implementation at different stages, while the information collected through the system will help determine whether implementation is progressing in line with established plans,” she said.

Dr Kida added that the Government has also developed guidelines for managing development projects. The guidelines are intended to ensure that all projects approved for implementation are aligned with national priorities set out in Vision 2050 and other national development plans.
